I have to say that, apart from the whole doctrinal message here, which is surely the main point, I like it when people put things in their own words, rather than quoting someone else.
I can see how the scattering and gathering is important to Nephi and his brethren in the wilderness, since they essentially are among the first ones to be scattered. But now, in our time, the scattering isn’t as interesting as the gathering, and when and how it will happen.
Also, it is nice to get the big picture every once in a while. But the details are vague enough to still make things fuzzy (and unpredictable and interesting).
